An oval bronze medal, the obverse centre featuring a left facing portrait of Luitpold, surrounded by the inscription LVITPOLD PRINZ REGENT VON BAYERN, the reverse centre presents the inscription AM 70 JAHRESTAG MEINES DIENST ANTRITTES DER BAYER ARMEE GEWIDMET XII. III. MCMV, measuring 31. 94 mm (w) x 38. 38 mm (h), on loop for suspension from period original ribbon, and in near
