Constructed of silver gilt and Gold, consisting of a white enameled silver gilt Maltese Cross with ball finials and crossed swords that reach through the center of the award, with a central medallion in Gold, bearing the crowned royal cypher of Duke Adolphe of Nassau in gold, surrounded by a blue ring of enamels depicting laurels and the motto Virtute
